the double roof

residential building

basel

2027

dominant white plastered facade and large, frameless glass surfaces that allow interior and exterior spaces to merge almost seamlessly. the building features a strong horizontal emphasis - low, elongated structures. it consists of three clearly defined volumes arranged with slight offsets relative to one another. this creates an interesting rhythm and an "open courtyard" effect in the center.
white pergola roofs or deeply cantilevered roof slabs over the terrace areas, providing shade and further emphasizing the horizontal lines.
large glass surfaces open the house to the surrounding landscape (meadows, trees, hills, and the silhouette of the city in the background).
a luxurious, highly transparent, and open residential design that consistently embraces the "indoor-outdoor lifestyle." the aesthetic is elegant and understated, yet sculptural. great importance on light, material reduction, and the dialogue with nature.
