commercial building

this office building is a multi-story interpretation of desert modernism. it combines corten steel, glass, and a strictly cubic design language with the characteristic desert landscape of the american southwest. corten steel is frequently used in arid landscapes because its rusty patina harmonizes in color with the rock, earth, and vegetation. the design consists of several interlocking cubes staggered across approximately three levels. individual volumes project significantly from the facade in places, creating deep overhangs and areas of shadow. the architecture thus appears almost like a stacked, abstract structure. the entire exterior skin is characterized by rust-brown metal panels. the visible panel joints form a regular grid, while the uneven patina creates a natural, almost earthy surface.
