residential building
the building resembles a contemporary desert modern home with a strong connection to the landscape. the combination of clean cubic forms, flat roofs, corten steel, and drought-tolerant planting aligns closely with the principles of desert modernism. several interlocking volumes of varying heights create a sculptural composition. instead of a single compact mass, the design forms a sequence of horizontal and vertical planes. several interlocking volumes of varying heights create a sculptural composition. the rust-brown metal skin - deliberately weathered in appearance - gives the building its distinctive character. light-colored flooring and roof surfaces create a striking contrast with the dark, warm steel. solid exterior walls convey a sense of shelter and privacy, while the house opens selectively onto terraces, courtyards, and green spaces.
